A few years ago when Sherry came to the Food Pantry, we asked her if she needed help other than food and she said “Yes.” We listened to her needs and referred her to Rosa Clark and Mountain Lakes for medical and dental help. She followed up with both agencies and says has been VERY pleased with the results. “I couldn’t make it without Rosa Clark, which covers the costs of my medicines, and Mountain Lakes’ dental help has been real good,” she says.
Although we are known for the food we give out, the Golden Corner Food Pantry interviewers work hard to know all the other services available in Oconee County. So when someone needs non-food help like finding a job, getting a GED, finding housing, or getting their medical needs met, like Sherry, we can connect them with the right place to get the help and make their life better.
