Annie Erbacher, a Clemson student, wanted to volunteer at the pantry, but her school schedule just didn’t match up with our hours of operation, so she held a food drive for us instead! Here’s her story–
“My name is Annie Erbacher, and I am in my second year at Clemson University. Back home in Buffalo, New York, I volunteer at a food pantry that is very similar to the Golden Corner Food Pantry. I have been unable to volunteer here because of my school schedule, so I decided to do a food drive in place until I am able to volunteer. I emailed all of my professors and posted on social media to get the word out. My professors were extremely helpful and sent out messages to their classes to let their students know. One professor even offered extra credit to those who brought in cans! The response from social media posts were great too; I received Venmo donations from family and friends all over the east coast! I would not have been able to collect 369 pounds of food if not for the help from my friends and family. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!”
Thanks, Annie, and a Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!
