Mission Statement
Golden Corner Food Pantry’s mission is to provide emergency and supplemental food to the disadvantaged and low income residents of Oconee County. We provide food for temporary relief until people can get back on their feet (emergency) or food for those who can’t quite make ends meet and need occasional help in getting by (supplemental). Clients qualify for our service if their gross income is less than 150% of the Federal poverty level, or if they are unemployed or disabled. There are over 6000 households (over 14,000 people) that have been registered with the Pantry. In a typical month we serve about 850 families including about 250 senior households, and 600 “family” households. Organizational and Foundation grants have been critically important to us as we expand our mission into nutritional foods and providing help beyond food to improve quality of life of our clients.
